Head Gaskets
How many of the Higher Compression motors, and or Boosted use SCE Copper Head Gaskets. I have been using Cometics at 14.6-1 Comp. I was thinking of switching to the SCE Gasket. Are these re-usable? Being an Aluminum block and head deal,I thought about switching over to the Copper Gaskets.

I'm using SCE 0.080 with double O-rings. I've reused 1 head gasket after dropping an intake valve.

I have the ones with the built in SS o-rings in them, they seem to be OK.

Flatout has rubber coated copper gaskets for Pontiac. Has anyone used these?

Yes, we have been using the coated copper gaskets from Flatout for over 20 years. The Boss Bird has the original set of head gaskets we put on in 2010. Zero leakage, they have been on and off the engine at least 20 times. They have drawings for many Pontiac gaskets. Highly recommend.

I was thinking better Sealing with Copper as Temperatures change. More consistent Heat distribution In the Combustion chambers. No Issues with Cometics so far. I feel the benefit to the Copper Gasket is that it is more uniform being 1 solid piece VS Multi layer Gaskets.

Does the Flatout Rubberized Gasket Need O-Rings in the Head and or Deck? SCE sells a Copper Gasket that doesn't require using O-Rings. I have 2 sets of the Flat out Gaskets. However the Bore size is 4.250" I need 4.380".

I'm using the SCE copper gaskets with no issues. Whether or not I re-use them, depends on how many passes I have on them.

What about the Marty rings? Has anybody tried them?

Years and years of abuse, been over heated probably a dozen times. In my opinion the alum just isn't as hard as it once was (maybe lost the heat treat?), seem softer now.

If I am not mistaken Brodix offers a retempering service for all heads, not just there own.
If you have expensive CNC heads then it's worth the rebuilding cost that will be needed after treatment.

FWIW We recommend the Cometics for your combination. Gasket built to your specs...no extra machining, Cost effective, Supports lots of HP, Simple & Easy. Unless there is something else going on that we are unaware of.
