The 1970 steel inner A-pillar moldings are one year only.

Appreciate the confirmation.

Too bad I missed out on that gauge cluster you had for sale a while back. Please keep me in mind if you find another stuffed away in the garage somewhere lol

I looked and I have one spare pair of 1970 bird A-pillar panels.

PM me your address and I'll ship them to you for free.

I too have been trying to find a nice pair of black 70 bird only rear side seat filler panels without ashtrays. Tough little buggers to find.

Oh.. on the dash bezels, the location of the bird emblem moved around from year to year. So I think that a 70 is also one year only due to the bird location.

Rob

Here's a picture of the 71's dash bezel and bird location. The bird moved toward the drivers side several inches.

Bird moved mid year of 70 (circa April I believe. Someone needs to ask Matt.) I have an early one that Randy Combs is restoring but no longer need.

I think I have a real nice set of Black ones I was gonna dye Blue for another project. That project doesn’t require original parts……

I appreciate the pictures. From what I've read here on the forums and looking at original cars with PHS, this bird placement appears to be the correct one for my 03/24/1970 shipped Norwood TA as well.

Its a shame my original bezel is gone. I believe it was changed so extra gauges could be mounted

Yea mid April seems to be the change over. I think assembly plant plays a part in this as well. WAY more cars built at Norwood then Van Nuys., so they would have gone through em faster. Mine is an early one but someone drilled a hole in it for an alarm light. Randy has had it for awhile trying to fix it. Unfortunately the car I got it for got away. I was gonna use it in a clone

If you’d like to sell it please let me know.

Thanks

Thanks to some great board members I was able to check the following items off my list:
1970 Trans Am gauge cluster (have two sets now)
1970-1972 A-Pillar moldings (have two sets now)
1970 rear plastic arm rests (one set in great shape)

I’m still looking for an early 1970 machine turned dash bezel (no A/C) which seems to be made of unobtainium. lol

I’m open to any 70-73, or possibly a 74 and newer as long as it doesn’t have A/C.

Can you turn a formula bezel in to a trans am bezel. Or get a later one remove radial suspension fill reskin and relocate the bird? Just a thought. We sometime need to improvise in our restoration. I was trying to go all original like you but it's to time consuming and hard to find parts. I realize some parts guys might not like my suggestion but it might look good and possible save you time and money. I too have 2 sets or 70 only guages actually possible 3 clusters and 2 complete sets. I sent you the Trans am.bezel link.to.facebook but it sold quick.
