Default 1970 GTO Glass Question/Help

I am currently in a frame off restoration of a 70 GTO Judge and looking for assistance on replacement glass (all 6 pieces) for the car. My question is for each piece of glass, where are the etchings (placement on the glass & etched on the outside or inside) and how are they read (from the inside out or outside in)? My car was built in Arlington, Texas in October of 69 if that matters.

Also, the only two pieces of glass that are original to the car are the quarter windows.

Pictures and measurements would be greatly appreciated and if you would like to talk offline, please pm me and I will send a phone #.

Thank you in advance,
Steve

Tell us about the quarter window glass you have, what does the etching there say?

Glass could be from PPG or LOF, soft ray or not.

Here is a picture of the etching on the passenger side quarter glass. The glass is not soft ray, so says the PHS.

the etching would say soft-ray if it was. on a side note, interesting that you quarter glass is dated earlier than mine but you car was built a month after mine - same plant.

Hi Steve, interesting, I thought the windshield and rear glass was original from the previous owner. I never checked it that close. Happy to see you are researching it, the car deserves it!! I'll check my stock of glass to see if I might have something.

Auto City Classic can provide you brand new date coded glass. You'll have to tell them what dates and LOF format. See if this helps you:http://iegtoclub.com/Tech%20Lib/window_lof_codes.htm
