Nice to see there are WW5 cars out there. But these two cars need a lot of work and probably 50 grand later to do the car correctly.

Too bad none of these have their original drivetrain.

Have not looked on this thread in some time. Am guessing I am the only one using a WW5 GTO for daily usage? I just love it. Anyway, there has been talk about a red m22 black int with stripes WW5 GTO that was bought at Cain Pontiac in Tn. I bought that GTO in August 1977 from a gal who was the original owner. It had 60,000 mi at the time. I put 40,000 on it before I sold it in 1981. I was 21 at the time when sold. I had repainted it the year after high school. The stripes were no longer avail in 1979. It was a good car. I converted it to a th400 and liked it much better but, put the orig m22 back in her before I sold it. Have several pics of her with the orig paint and a few after I painted it. I also went through the motor before selling. A guy near Tuc bought it from me in '81 and he kept in touch with me over the years. It was one of the few cars I ever sold that I regretted selling. and I knew I would when I sold it. Almost right away, I started my search for another WW5 and bought the one I still own in 1984. It has about 400,000 miles on it now. Anyway, back to the other one, a guy in Flag bought it a few years back. he did not have the original window sticker. I did get that from the original owner and passed it along to the man who bought it from me. But, he must have lost it as the owner in Flagstaff did not get it. He was delighted when he contacted me as I had copied it before I sold the car and gave him a copy. The guy in Flag contacted me last year to tell me he sold it to someone back east. Maybe it was you? When I bought it in '77 it had original paint except for the rar half of the right quarter. It had been hit and had some bondo and a part quarter repaint. The paint had faded differently by 1977 when I bought it. My understanding is the WW5 GTO still wears the paint job I put in it in 1979! The only sad thing is I have not seen her since I sold her in 1981. I had hoped the guy in Flagg would have brought it to Phoenix to attend Pontiac Heaven and was hoping to get a pic with both of them together. too bad. Anyway, am sure my old car is in good hands. I hope this post was helpful and am confident it is the same car after seeing the docs posted. Imagine that, a girl ordered it that way! It was not fun to drive with the 3.31 rear and M22. It was a dog and hard on clutches. It was much faster/quicker with the TH 400. I had a buddy with a 71 GTO 455HO auto and he would clean me every time! ( I ended up buy that 71 too btw ). .

One of my great regrets is not buying my friend's brother's Monarch Yellow '72 WW5 with the m-22 and a saddle interior. Could have had it for $2500 in 1987. Car was rust free at the time. I'm sure it is one of very very few. Would love to know where that car is today.

Lloyd, don't you keep a registry on these? if so how many of them have you documented now? seems like they had a pretty good survival rate.

I'm assisting with pulling together the Ram Air Invitational for 2019 MCACN show. This Ram Air Reunion is for GTOs in 2019. Birds will be coming in a couple years. Looking for a nice '72 WW5 that would be interested in displaying the car. All you WW5 guys, please help us find the right car! Send details/contact info of any potential candidates to humbler70gto@yahoo.com and I will pass along to the appropriate folks. Thanks in advance!
