Default What is the rarest color for a Judge?

Being I am a model car builder. Where I can own the rarest of the rare. I am wanting to build one of each year of the Judge. I am wondering what is the rarest color that the Judge came in for each year.

Thanks,

Tim

There are no statistics other than for 1970-71 GTO colors. For 1970, it possibly may be Mint Turquoise aside of some special-order cars in Goldenrod Yellow.

For 1971, I think the rarest GTO color is Rosewood; whether that's the rarest Judge color, I dunno.

I believe in '69, the rarest is Champagne Gold, or is it Antique Gold? There's one of the gold colors that there are none in the registry, but a basketcase showed-up on Ebay recently, and is the only known '69 Judge in that color FWIW.

Do know of a Champagne Gold 69 Judge with a vinyl top. Guy worked with my dad and bought it new. I haven't seen the car in probably 20 years but remember talking with him and at the time it had less than 40k miles. Said he had the miles he put on it every year since new written on the wall of his garage.

As far as colors go, Champagne certainly is rarer than Antique Gold. Is it the rarest regular production GTO color? I dunno, but I can think of a lot more popular colors I've seen, including Expresso Brown.

Default just golden rod

Don't think this 1 of 1, raiv judge, is "just" golden rod, - -, on data plate. The story I was told from orig selling dealer, is in hemming article. Customer orig wanted GSX, his son wanted the Judge, so he ordered try to get same color as GSX

So I've got some questions:

- Are Saturn Yellow and Goldenrod Yellow the same or different color?

- Wouldn't it make sense for the dealer to special-order a Goldenrod Yellow Judge, a color that was in the Pontiac palette, and tell the buyer it's the same color as the GSX?

- How do you know it's 1 of 1? Aren't all cars generally 1 of 1?

Here's a "true" 1 of 1 car....

Rich, Saturn Yellow and Goldenrod Yellow are two different colors? I tried to find something and had no luck, but I'm guessing they are based on the data plate codes.

Default yellow

Thanks Rich..
Diego, the dealer, told customer. .as the customer wanted originally a GSX, that he would get him a yellow Judge with top engine.
He told me that Freemont would built it. Going by paint chips, as Richard said, Daytona yellow looks like it. The car is mostly original paint.
To answer your question. . I know of a raIII, is is yellow, from Baltimore plant, but looks brighter. His says solid special on phs, mine says change alert, has *, for paint code..
Mine is written in grease pencil day car made nov 69 says special paint, and has reman ts of a factory pack color #.
I would say it's a 1 of 1, but if you know of other raiv judges like mine, I would be interested in knowing about them

Daytona Yellow = Goldenrod Yellow, for what it's worth.

I reckon if we had full production info, it'd be easier to say it's 1 of 1, but it ain't my car, so my opinion doesn't matter.

But it would be interesting to find out how the yellow Judge compares to a GSX side-by-side.

Did you get to see his PHS Invoice ?
I remember the car being listed on CL out of Cali .
There was a short thread about it on here, owner signed up and posted some vague info and never shared much of anything with us about the car.

Yours is a helluva rare car just by its survivor status and pedigree.
The special paint color puts it over the top.
We already determined - at least 1 or 2 other times already - that it is GoldenRod Yellow.
926-99568 is GoldenRod Pontiac aka Olds Sebring Yellow aka Chevy Daytona Yellow
Just as 70 TA Lucerne Blue aka Viking Blue-Olds aka Mulsanne Blue Chevy

What has my attention is the mention of the Ram3 Yellow Judge having Solid Special on the PHS. That was already included/factored into 69 and 70 Judge option package. None of the other - - / * 69 or 70 Judges have that charge or listing on Invoice.

Maybe his IS actually Saturn Yellow ?
Then you both would be 1 of 1

His amateur outdoor pics could be washing out the color a bit .
Have an old outdoor pic of your car and it looks pale like a cross between Sierra and Sunflower yellow.
Maybe his sunlight outdoor pics are not giving the true hue sort of like your old outdoor pic did not ?

Pink sheet is GRY 926-99568
First yellow is your car
Second yellow is Ram3 Cali

Maybe you could snap a shot of yours at The Judge decal on trunk lid and lets compare contrast degrees to the yellow in the decal ?
His looks almost same as decal ... think yours has more clash ?
idunno ?

That was going to be my point exactly. Daytona yellow,Saturn, yellow,Goldenrod yellow are all the SAME FORMULA. I am a painter by trade and looked at Eric's judge a long time ago. I don't why he still insist it's mostly original paint. I told him long ago that most of that car has been repainted. The hood, left fender, nose, both quarters and the trunk lid have been redone an it really needs to be redone again. Don't know about the survivor status with all that paintwork done and the non original engine but he is right thou,Its probably the rarest 70 out there. Never say never with pontiac there could be another one hidden away. For the record I have owned two Goldsboro yellow judges and both had Solid Special on the phs.
