Default Where have they all gone?

Where have all the 65-6 Catalina's and GP's gone? I know they made ton's of them, possibly even more than the GTO's. I search all the major websites and there are never any regular Catalina's for sale. Sure I see several overpriced 2+2's, but no plain Cats. Are they all in junkyards are have they been crushed? Not looking for a 4 speed or tri power car, but a plain car,

Probably can't afford a 2+2, but if an automatic car comes up reasonably priced I might consider it. Not looking for a convertible or a show quality car, just a good driver, NO Projects,

If you know of a nice 65-6 Catalina hardtop, let me know,

Price looks ok, but I'm really not a convertible person. Where are all the hardtops?

Yes, that is a Good Looking GP.

Love to cruise around in that boat. Classic!

Have you seen the car in person? Not exactly what I want, but I might consider it if it's the 'right' kind of car.

Yes, I've seen it on a couple of occasions and it's as nice as pictured. Interior is immaculate. I'm a bit surprised it hasn't sold yet. The dealer/resto shop is reputable and they turn out some top notch restorations, although I don't know what work, if any, they've done to this GP.

They either purchased it at BJ in 2016 or tried to sell it there and the buyer reneged. It shows it brought 22k. That doesn't leave them much profit if indeed they were the buyer.

I sent in the contact form on their website. Hope to hear from them in a couple of days.

Most of the ones I’ve uncovered the last few years weren’t posted on the internet. Talk to car guys, then follow leads. A lot of the guys that have them are my dads age (65+) and don’t like that newfangled internet thing. Old fashioned investigation will get you one and probably pretty reasonable.

I found a 65 GP that is about a 3 hour drive from me. I tried to contact the guy via email and got no answer. Then I texted him and asked him to email me back, again no response. So a week later I try email again and got a reply; he asked me to text him. So I text him with several questions about the car and he replies that is too many questions and that I need to come see the car in person. I reply that his answers to my questions will depend on whether I make the trip or not. The reply I get from him: OK. That was yesterday and I haven't heard anything more from him. I don't believe it's a scam because he wants me to come look. Bought many dozens of cars in the past 35 years but never had anyone advertise a car and then act like the don't want to be bothered with selling it.

Jerry H. I agree with you. I feel very fortunate when I found my 65 2+2. Im always keeping my eye out for that era car. Don’t see many nice ones at there. Very few at car shows.
