Might be a boat but it’s got the right engine and it’s a Clean looking car.

Did north pick this one up? Looks like it would fit right into his collection.

The ’69 Catalina from BaT came home to my brother Dan three weeks ago today. I got to see it for the first time today, and I have to say it is a sweet car in amazing original condition…except for the newer paint, but that is even nice for a driver. Dan’s been busy checking everything over, going through the brakes (repainted the red MC to black), all the fluids, changing the oil & filter, new R45S plugs to replace the too cold R43S’s, corrected the timing and advance, and went through the Q-jet to clean and confirm jetting (factory still). He’s working on light bulb replacement throughout and getting it ready for its first spring outing in May. It whistled 9.5 compression cold, so probably close to 10.0 warm.

Thanks John! Dan is considering pulling the engine to replace the oil pump and driveshaft with a 60 lb. pump and HD shaft...and pull a cap, or two, to see how the bearings are holding up.

I only know the buyer...lol. Dan weighed the big Cat and it topped the scales at a paltry 4201 lbs with a half tank of gas. With a full tank its 4300 lbs. With Dan's butt in the seat and a full tank of gas it's 4350 lbs race weight. That's only 300 lbs heavier than our '70/'71 GTO's!
