Default Pertronix coil?

I have a question about the pertronix flame thrower II coil that's in my 67 gto.
I have had the dash harness out of my car to do some paint work behind the dash. I am in the process of hooking everything back up and have most of it done. The coil (positive) side has the red wire going to the bottom of the distributor and the black/yellow stripe wire going to the bulkhead connector. The + side also has a white wire that went to the bulkhead connector but I'm assuming that was the resistive wire that is not supposed to be connected for use with the pertronix coil, it was not connected at the bulkhead connector. The coil (negative) side has the black wire going to the bottom of the distributor and a fused brown wire going through the firewall to the inside of the car. My question is where does the brown fused wire go to? Thanks.

Do you have a tach?
I'd say it's for that if so.

Yes I do have a tach, but I already have the wires hooked to it.

The correct wires or aftermarket?

The original tach wire should go through the firewall in a rubber grommet. Not to the fuse block setup.
From there I'm not for sure about, but think it went straight to the tach.
(from the hole with the rubber grommet)

John,
It's an aftermarket dash harness. I will have to trace both wires going to the tach. I just hooked up the wires like they were hooked up before and the car was working before I unhooked all the wires.

Brown wire thru grommet is original tach hookup.

Should not have a wire from coil + to the bottom of the distributor. There should be a single wire from the distributor bottom to the coil (-). Tach is connected to the coil (-) also.

I figured the red and black wires going to the bottom of the distributor are for the electronic ignition module. There is a brown wire connected to the (+) side of the tach and a black wire connected to the (-) side of the tach. That is the way it was wired when I unhooked everything. I am using the original factory tach.

Probably ok if the distributor is aftermarket electronic ignition , i.e., not a points distributor.

Ok I figured it out. There was a brown wire with a connector on the end of it just hanging loose off the dash harness. Turns out that wire was coming from the (+) side of the tach, so it connects with the brown wire going through the firewall coming from the (-) side of the coil. Thanks John, George and everyone else for your help.

Ok, I know this is you wanted but, I'd think a Pontiac HEI distributor would have been the better option. No fuss no muss. I put one on my 400 and haven't had one problem at all since I put it in back in 2009. Guys said to use Portronics or MSD. But I keep it true to Pontiac and have no regrets at all.

I'm not trying to make any mad for saying this, but that's only my thought.
