45 + years working with Pontiac engines. Was pretty sure I had seen everything. Wrong again! I love it. Went to considerable effort and ruined two perfectly good quarters to perform that repair.

What were the dates on the quarters???...couldn’t make it out in the pics...

The one on the RH side (left when viewed from the front) was 1991.

Well .... all I have is the standard pressed in plugs .... so the quarters might be an improvement over that.

I have had the standard pressed plugs for years. But what I did was take a square edged file and make some little cuts in the plug and take the handle of the file and make a few deep scratches in the block where the plug fits. I did this so the JB Weld would have more to "grab" that i smeared on the plug. Like where you sand something when you epoxy it.
Then I staked it on the inside lip with a punch then filled the rest with JB.
Its not coming out.
You can still tap it for pipe threads at a later dare if you chose.

That must be the safety mod for the 60 psi pump as I hear the the 80 psi pump needs two of the thicker silver Dallor coins to be used there!
