I will Gary, I was going to probably start a new tread, but progress has been slow. So I was going to wait until I have more photos and can show more details.

Agreed. Looks fabulous. Love the color. Thanks to those who posted photos. It helps inspire me to get mine finished. I forget which number we assigned to my car....I think it is #18?

I have a couple progress photos to share. The car is further along than what is shown here in these pics. Working on the interior now. When the seats get bolted in then I can take it for a drive around the block. Brakes are bled so I just need to verify they work before I roll it out of the garage.

Weather forecast here in AZ calls for rain during the next few days. I hope it clears by the weekend because first drive will be with the top down of course. Been waiting for 30 years to drive a convertible GTO. It is almost time.

Thanks for sharing the update / pics.
Looks extremely good.
Great replication of actual VooDoo color as well.

Hope you get sore cheek bones from smiling and driving that beast

The known casting dates for the II heads are as follows:

C118 - also known as the missing casting date or on angle above spark plug - no 96 on center ports.
D228 - no 96 on center ports until night shift castings.
D238 - has 96 on center ports (all after this date do as well)
F138
F158
F198
A099 - definitely service replacement heads
A209
A229
A239

Default Voodoo II update

Rolled the car out of the garage and into the sunlight. Love the color in the sun. Wasn't able to drive it because I couldn't get it into gear. A quick clutch adjustment and I was off and running around the block. Was pretty exciting to drive this thing. It has come a very long way since I started the restoration.

Now comes the fun stuff...bolting on the lights, trim moldings and interior. Maybe a few tweaks and adjustments here and there but otherwise it seems to run good.

Question for those of you that have driven these kinds of cars....
How do you get these things to hook up? A round port engine with M21 trans and 4.33 gears is something else. Just breathe on the accelerator and the tires just start spinning. I can't think about opening it up unless there is a long straight road ahead of me. Is that normal?

Another PY member has informed of a complete 68 Ram2 engine he has had for a while , and built it for his 68 GTO HO 4spd 3.90 car that was missing its original engine.
So he has his own version of a Ram2 GTO now.
Car is having paint work being done currently.
It's a Turquoise Car ( sweet )

Baltimore plant VIN on the block , would have been around 1st week of June build date.

i Googled the VIN as Hardtop and Convertible and got zero results.
He may perhaps do PHS on the Block VIN

Sounds fun!
I can't remember...does the partial VIN say if the engine came from F or A body? Would be interesting to know if it came from a convertible. Likely a C118 as cast 9792506 block?

Yes partial VIN will tell if it is A-Body or F-Body
None of the plants did both A and F at same plant.

also A and F used different Block Codes from each other in 67 - 68 - 69

This is a 28B131xxx partial VIN , so Baltimore = GTO
WY Code = GTO

He will probably share more details when he gets the car back from the out-of-state paint job.

It's WY Code with 7028273 Carb (manual tranny stuff)
Was complete except for exhaust manifolds - he bought new repops.

Here are a few pics from facebook that i will try to link.
Looks like body/paint is done and waiting on small details and interior.
In last reply i asked the interior color, i don't know which color it is yet.

His name is Troy , in South Carolina
Car is at a shop in Illinois

Thanks BVZ......I should have assumed GTO since it was a Baltimore car....du'oh!.
WY is manual trans GTO like you mentioned. Manual trans RAII engines had the 041 cam.
Was 1968 the only year where Pontiac used different cam grinds for manual vs auto GTO's?

Resurrecting this thread caused me to go out to the garage and start mine up. Love the way these things idle. I think I will cruise mine around this weekend with the top down.

Got word it also has Turquoise (dark aqua) Interior.
Turq / Turq is one of my top choice combos on a 68 .

M21 and 4.33 in the car now.

He is getting PHS on the engine.
They confirmed its a legit Ram Deuce VIN from a 4spd Hardtop GTO
