Dealer 11-991 is not Royal Pontiac. Car built in Kansas City.

Does it say where the seller is located?

That might explain why I am not familiar with it.

All the payment options which include some form of buyer protection are rejected. You need to wire $10K, right now, to this elderly gentleman, err, lady(?)

Ruh roh. Doesn't sound good.

So - let's open the floodgates. A KC built car sent to dealer 11-991 (which would be in the Milwaukee Wisconsin zone). Repop window sticker that says "Royal Pontiac" and Pontiac Michigan final assembly location? No.

Could someone from Milwaukee have taken their car to Royal Oak to have the package installed? Stranger things have happened - but perhaps more likely they would have mail ordered the kit and had it installed locally.

The engine photos: that's not a 421 block. Those in the know can tell. Could they have used a 389 block and bored/stroked to get a 421? Maybe - but that's not how it was done back in the day.

Power steering/power brake automatic trans? That's a tough sell for me.

Bobcatted by Wangers/Delorean/Ace Wilson/Schornack? I realize us old guys (including me or my dad) are given to hyperbole when spinning a yarn but I can guarantee Delorean didn't touch this car. Wangers would have been off making speeches somewhere. Ace would have been "up north".

Milt would be the one turning the wrenches and getting grease under his fingernails.

I'd love to see the receipts.

Just my observations.

Not a 421 block unless 66. Very questionable tale

Buildsheet says 389 4bbl with 3.23 open rear end.

I guess if you were going to 'upgrade' it you'd get the cheapest GTO so you could replace everything on it?

Highly cropped.

I'm guessing because it is for a different car.

Also - the reference to being the "only automatic survivor".

That paint looks too shiny to be original. I'm guessing at least once repaint/restoration.

That knocks it out of the "survivor" category for me.

I think the whole story is BS. We would all know that car if true.

Saving the build sheet and VIN for posterity:

VIN 824M23005

11-991 is Milwaukee Zone PMD Lot:

Getting in touch with my inner BVZ - makes me wonder if there are multiple invoices for this car.

Not as bad as this car

https://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/d/...824726838.html

Listed as a real GTO with numbers matching drivetrain, Kansas plant car , no 5N on data plate, advertised as tripower, has a WT block, not sure what year it but it gets better, has 142 low horse heads from 67, 65 tripower unit, automatic car, no z-bar bracket on frame, 3-spd auto. Not a real GTO, hope everyone does their research.

Jim Wangers Chevrolet was in Milwaukee. Maybe initial conveyance of this GTO was withheld until rubber bumpers officially caught on and Jim Wangers would be in town to personally install the bobcat kit, with John Delorean in a rear-facing baby Bjorn guarding his six from approaching EPA ...?
