Default Steering column question

I am rebuilding the column in my '71. Is the backdrive shaft pressed onto the shift bowl? I do not see any fasteners...

Don't remember that assembly detail but I found this useful when I rebuilt mine. Hopefully it has the answer. If not, I apologize in advance for being too lazy to look through it again:

Unfortunately all those are for tilt columns - this is a non-tilt unit.
If it is a press-on deal, I will let that sleeping dog lie.

You have a copy of a service manual? My 70 book has a diagram and a description of disassembly. I'm happy to scan the description if you think it would help. I bet you have it figured out, though, and the assembly is not intended to be separated but here's the diagram and key:

Last time I did a deep dive in a steering column I had the same question. I recall that it is a press-on deal and there's a special J-tool to get it off if need be. That could be tilt only though, my memory is fuzzy.

Thanks for the illustration - I have 2 manuals, '71 and '72 and did not see the non-tilt in either.

I will clean it as-is, I cannot see a good reason to risk damage by separating just to clean
