Scott,
Don't know if these are the heads that you have.

Quote:
Kris Nelson put the heads on his SF600 bench for comparison. Kris felt there was a few minor things that he would like try so he ended up adding a few more cc's to the intake port volume and picked us up a few more cfm to 421 @ .800 and 424 @ .850. Nothing big but the .500 up numbers gained in line with the changes made. cam was changed to 276/284 114ls same lift +/- .010 or so.

Stan
Is that a quote from Alex/Warped? If so that sounds like what I was told they flow, and that is the cam specs I have.

Scott,
Yes. Just somethings I have saved on my disk.

Thank you all for the kind words, it has been a long and hard road to get here and it is all worth it . These dyno sheets I just put up are from Monday. The 913 hp/765tq was with the low rise / 1050 dominator at 30 degrees timing. The R manifold was bolted on with the same 1050, note this manifold is as cast other than the port matching to the unaltered intake gaskets. With that we had got 940hp/825tq. This is still only carbs right now but time just wasn't in our favor as I am all of you know how that goes. We did get one pull on e85 (1250 carb) before the dist. rotor came apart ending the night early. with a careful 27 degree timing and short pull we got 956hp @6500 and 831tq @ 5600.

Cool, thanks Stan. I dont think it will make that much power, if I could manage to get close ( minus the compression loss % ) that will be very cool for me.

I could be happy making that kind of power. I almost had Bill anderson do a set of CV heads for me a little over a year ago but a divorce got in the way. That being over, it's time to revisit a new set of either CV's or a set of 430 cfm HP's.

Jack...I feel ya on the divorce delay, mine sidelined my car for 6 years. Hope you get back to it. Hard to go wrong with a good set of highports but if CV1s are available I would go with them just to be a little diferent. 😁

It will definately be one or the other. I have a set of HP's now that I will need to move before I upgrade. Plus a chassis to finish so I have something to put the motor in!

I talked to Jim today, he is going to get me a couple missing pieces. I'm Missing a pushrod guide plate, and the shim kit for the shaft rockers along with set up instructions. Looking at one of these type housing to make the water connection from the heads.

I agree, and say he is one of the best!

Picture shows his water manifold.

I'm lucky to say that John has his craftsmanship on a big portion of my engine.

Got busy today, I was leaning towards one of the remote style adaptors and using #10 lines from the front and back of the heads, but then would have had issues with temp sending unit too. This I believe this will be my solutions for the water crossover. I cut the bottom off along with the bypass portion. I have been plugging the water bypass to the timing cover for years anyway. Now I need to take it somewhere to have a bottom plate welded into the opening. Hoping it doesnt warp out of shape . it will work as long as long as it doesnt get deformed from the welding.

Just and update. I had the intake in my hands again today, looks like it probably was cut apart and welded back together.

If you're worried about warpage make a jig for it out of 1/4" plate.

Looks great. Most would have gotten another valley pan..

I like it..

Took the rotating assemble to get balanced, should get it back next week. I fitted a plate to have welded in, to close off the bottom or the crossover and took it to get welded in. I should get it back tomorrow. And i made a fuel pump block off plate, with fins to go with the valley cover.

I had one of those valley covers. It would not fit so I gave it to Dan Whitmore as a present. Kinda wish I would have kept it, but RIP Dan, you deserved it.
