Default Anybody make the center air/AC deflector

I see that OPGI & Ames sell the version below, but I'm looking for the one with directional vanes not the ones below the dash.
.
Any ideas??

Ouch....that hurts.

May just have to see if I can make the existing work/look better.

Looks like this...no chrome left. FWIW...the rest of the interior is being restored.

You can send it out for restoration. I found a place a while back that would restore these after looking for a few minutes. Don't remember it but some googling would reveal it probably.

I bought one from him a couple weeks ago, offered $245 and he accepted. Looks great, very nice condition. The one I had in there I had sent out to Vacuum Ornamental along with the 2 lower vents. It came out looking ok but not perfect, still better than the one that was in there. If I still had a 70 I would have sent in the door lock knobs with the other parts. They do nice work.

I sent 2 of the center vents out for re chrome in 2015. They looked as good as new. Cost was about 10 % of above NOS. + shipping. I did the dis assembly and re assembly myself. easy to do.
Still look like new.

Oh sure...now you tell me.

I broke down and got one of the NOS pieces. After calling around and getting quotes of $150+ and shipping/insurance both ways, figured it was easier to just bite the bullet.

I will probably send out the OEM unit to Dale (if he answers his phone) and sell to recoup costs. Hope he is doing okay during this COVID debacle.

Thanks for sharing this. Good to know there is an option if I need more plastic parts metalized.

I almost recommended "ChromeTech" but saw he had shut down:

Link to ChromeTech Web Site

He did mine a few years back for a low cost and it looked good.

Are you looking for one already re-chromed or a core to have done?

either at this point. pulling the dash again and would like everything ready to go. I just don't want to pull it and have it apart for extended time.

I had this in the dash before I bought the new one, rechromed, far from perfect but better than it looked before, to me. PM if interested. I tried to take pictures to make it look as bad as I could, don’t like complaints. Hard to get great pics due to the reflection.

I still have a good core if someone is looking for one. Would happily trade for that little Pontiac emblem for the 72 dash. Mike
