Viking Coilovers or Moroso trick springs & 90/10 shocks?
A couple of years ago, in order to shave weight for hard tire heads up racing, I replaced my front shock/spring combo with a set of Viking double adj coil over springs. It seemed like a good idea but I now wonder if that was a mistake since I have a lower HP car (425 on motor, 605 on n2o), would I be better off going back some Moroso trick front springs and a good set of 90/10 shocks? The car weighs 3280lb with 1710lb on the front.

Santhuff Springs and Viking DA would be my choice.

I went from Moroso trick springs and Calvert 90/10 shocks to Viking bolt on coilovers this past winter. With the Moroso springs, my car would pop the front up then drop it quickly and actually bounce the front tires a few times after launch. Also, the front suspension would be fully extended all the way down the track. The Vikings are a huge improvement on the street and track. Weight savings, ride height adjustability, compression and rebound damping adjustability.....what's not to like?

Coil springs and a good shocks.
I have two Pontiac buds running pretty quick with coils and good shocks. One runs 9.50s,the other high 7s. Both on small tire.

I let Mike Proulx at Viking select the springs and shock damping for me. He has been very helpful. One of the reasons I went with the hybrid coilover set up, is because it allows easy access to the adjustment knobs on the DA shock. I use different settings for street and strip so I adjust them quite a bit.
