Wasn't even aware of any background cars - cool that your Chevelle got in that photo!

Still 10k below what he wants for it this time around, 20k from last time. Nice Formy, I would love to find me a 74 sd formula, but with very few options.

Is this a case that a 74 SD Formula is more desirable than a 74 SD TA?

My thoughts are that it is a case of an unrestored, original SD, more than a Formy over a T/A.

Can't quite get my hands around that paint color, though. Just not my cup o' tea.

Buy mine. It does not have A/C or power windows and is an unrestored 48K mile car with some history. All original paint, interior, and born with drive train.

The white lettering looks awesome on the hood....The color and vinyl not so much.

I'm not sure if this car has been discussed/or if anyone is familiar with this Brewster SD. It has a Saddle deluxe interior. There are several other 70-73 Trans Ams at this auction including a few Ram Air IV's.

Here is the Brewster SD up for auction in Dallas (Mecum) this Friday 09/07/2012:

Might as well have bought a TA if the owner was looking for that kind of look. I'd change her back if it was in my garage.

the white Formula SD is a local owner that I spoke to last year. Seems like a very legitimate car as he sent lots of documentation on it but not sure about the 4.11 gears. I never saw anything that proved that ratio. At the time the seller wanted high $90's for it.

Yeah, that's a bunch of poop, unless there's a doc showing it!

No way a 4.11 diff with air, anyway.

Lloyd – thanks for posting the pics of Mike Pergande’s Brewster SD.

IIRC: It was shown @ Houston Autorama for several years. I remember seeing it there before anyone was restoring them.

Although Black and White Photos; Mike’s SD is shown starting on page 61, in Chapter 7, of John Gunnels publication:

Lightbulb Brewster SD455 selling today Dallas Mecum

Lot F307.1 1973 Pontiac Trans Am Super Duty
455 SD, Factory Air, PHS Documented

September 5-8, 2012
This Lot scheduled to be sold FRI 8:10PM

http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_de...1&entryRow=967

DESCRIPTION
While other muscle cars were fading away, Pontiac’s Firebird Trans Am continued to sell to customers seeking looks, power and handling. The top engine choice was the new SD455 CI V-8, a hand-assembled unit incorporating a reinforced block, special cam, aluminum pistons, oversize valves and header-like exhaust manifolds. Pontiac rated the SD455 at 310 horses, much lower than its actual 360-plus HP. This SD455-equipped 1973 Trans Am is one of the best examples in existence and one of the rarest by virtue of its Brewster Green paint and Tan interior. Even better, it is also completely original except for the tires and the battery, and shows just 44,000 miles.
HIGHLIGHTS

- One of the best 1973 Super Duty Trans Ams in existence
- Completely original except for the tires and battery
- 455 CI Super Duty
- Automatic transmission
- Factory air conditioning
- Power brakes
- Power windows
- Rare color combination
- Brewster Green with Tan interior
- Front console
- PHS documented
