Default interior black paint (textured?)

Hi all,

Does anyone know a good off the shelf paint for matching the interior black painted surfaces ('69) ? This includes the lower trim around the rear window and front top portion of dash. I believe the original paint had some texture - I searched the archives and didn't find any threads directly on point.

I could go to a paint store if needed but I'm not even sure of the code, as its not on the trim tag.

Thanks!

I was pretty happy with the upper dash dark red paint I got from NPD. Topped it off with some SEM flat. Just a shade darker than I remember but the upper dash had faded pretty bad so it may be correct. There wasn't any texture to the paint previously.

I think the texturing develops as the paint ages, it is very low gloss in those areas which makes it more prone to shrinkage.

The paint store used to take lacquer paint and mix in a little Parko 711 rubbing compound and it looked like factory when you sprayed it.

Cornstarch or talcum powder I believe are old school flatteners that I have heard of that give some texture. Never done it myself though.

I found the Ditzler color code for this black. It is 9317. The problem is the minimum cost for a can of this color in spray paint is $72, which is a little steep. Looks like I'll be using something off the shelf, since I had to sell my compressor a few years back.
