3 speed Judge
What shifter handle did the 69 Judge 3 speed cars come with from factory? I can't seem to find any literature on them or pictures.
I believe they just had HURST on the T- handle? A friend of mine is sporting a 4 speed T-handle on his 3 speed and we need to correct it. LOL Anyone have any info? Thanks |

Sure looks like it! The picture I posted was the handle on a '69 GTO I purchased about 15 years ago. The car was completely untouched, numbers matching, with the base 3-speed manual. Everything was original, so I have no reason to suspect the handle was not also.
Now, I wonder if I could get consensus on the correct T-handle for a 4-speed '70 Judge? I researched that a few years back and there seems to be disagreement on whether the "4" should be open or closed font. The blank handle on the right is what was with my '70 Judge when I bought it, so I would like to find a correct original.

Most aftermarket Hurst T Handles are virtually identical to a 3 speed Judge. A friend of mine bought a very tired and very very original 70 3spd Judge in the mid-80's. It had a "correct" 3spd wood knob without pattern. Never thought about it being out of place until about 10 years ago. Car is long gone, he sold it in mid 90's I don't really know if you could order a wood knob on a Judge. I suppose it was possible But you couldn't order a T-Handle on a GTO as a factory option. |

I don't remember how that hashed out.
But i do remember its been analyzed on here in the past. My Judge is a 69 3spd Manual, so i never needed to get too involved in those debates. Ram4king probably knows the full lowdown on the 4's. It may be both are correct for something - depending on the year or the plant. |

Any pictures of the 3 spd wood knob without pattern? I have a strange wood knob (no pattern) that came with a bunch of 69 GTO stuff I bought years ago. I will try and dig it up and post some pics. I believe it had a chrome ring on the bottom with a set screw in it. |

Baron Does this wood knob look like the one you were referring to on that 70 Judge?

Here are pictures of optional 69-70 PMD walnut knobs.
3 speed & 4 speed versions The one on his 70 3spd Judge was like the one without a shift pattern. It looked good with the red interior of the car. [Red/White Painted Roof/Red Interior] [pictures from ebay] |

That makes more sense to me now.
I didn't think the knob I have was anything special just that it was with a bunch of gto parts I acquired. Thanks for the pictures. |

Our 70 3-speed had the aluminum HURST T handle, boy did we toss that pain in a hurry. COLD.
We put a black knob on for best feel. |

Good question about being able to order the wood knob on a stick shift judge, none in my PHS collection but I’ve never seen anything indicating you couldn’t order one.
I guess it’s really two questions, could you? And even if you could, did anybody do so? Sort of lie a RAIV TA ragtop, you could, but no one did.
