Default 111928 Alternator

Howdy
Does anyone know the difference between a “open face” 111928 vs a closed face 111928? I have both style alternators with build dates in 1971.
Thanks

Internally the same. They should have the same rear case. Best I can tell, the front case (frame) switched from the open face to closed face on late April 71 dates. True for the 927s as well.
