Default Are there no big shows in the South?

Just curious.....every year it seems all the major Pontiac shows/conventions are in the North. Being in Alabama that's quite a haul. What are the chances of in the future including maybe Atlanta/Nashville/Bowling Green etc.......

Closest thing in the Atlanta area is the BOP show in May. If the weather is good there is usually around 200 or so cars. And then the Pontiac Club show that used to be at the Talledaga track also in May. I've never been over to that one, but it is said to be a pretty good show. Nothing major in the last several years. The POCI had a National Convention in Atlanta in 1984; and that caused the Atlanta chapter to fold. The GTOAA Nats were held here in 1997 or so.

Big shows just never seem to do well around Atlanta.

Go to Spring Charlotte. There is a big AACA show + many clubs or gatherings of owners of specific brands have shows around the perimeter of the speedway or in the infield. The entire track is the car corral. I've been to Pomona, Carlisle, Hershey, etc. but went to Spring Charlotte last year and it blew me away. Not to mention the swap meet which is gargantuan.
