Had to take my HF death stands back due to a recall..........cant seem to find anything local that isnt made in china. Looking for pin type, dont even want to mess with the rachet types unless they are US made.

I got tired of looking for quality, high rise stands, so I built my own about 8 years ago. 24 inches collapsed, to 48 inches fully extended. These were more for working on trucks than cars, but I could scale them down for car use if I ever thought about making lower rise ones
For car use I have an abundance of 6X6 timber blocks I use to place under the wheels. I've been doing this long enough that I have 4 pair of old regular ratchet type stands. if I need the wheels hanging to do suspension work, etc. Someday before I die I may get a garage tall enough for a lift. Yesterday the wife and I just talked about why are we spending just under $100 a month to rent a 10X10 storage unit when that payment could be going to a pole building instead. I had a 30X40 building with 10 foot doors in it before I got divorced in 2001, but of course the house had to be sold to split the proceeds of the marriage....... |
