Default Solid Body Mounts

Anyone know where to get solid body mounts for a 65 A-Body?

You're probably going to have to go the Chevy route......

I know TRZ has them for 68-72 A-bodies, I'm not sure what the difference is between the 64-67 and the 68-72 variety

This is what I found so far

I called TRZ and they don't make them for a 65 A-Body
Speed tech has them for a 65 A-Body for $299.00 and it includes the hardware. Most likely these are for Chevy I called them and they are not aware there is a difference between BOP and Chevy
ABC Performance has them for a 65 A-Body (Chevy) for $440.00 plus hardware kit $75.00
ABC Performance has them for a 65 A-Body (BOP) for $503.00 plus hardware kit $75.00

It appears there is a difference between the 65 A-Body Chevy and BOP for the body mounts. Wish I knew what the difference was because $578.00 is a lot of coin to dish out for body mounts.

Does anyone know what the difference is or if there is another source? I'm pretty sure I'm not the only racer with a Pontiac that went to solid body mounts.

I am currently running 59 year old rubber mounts. This is a track only car so I don't want poly I want solid. Thanks

When I had my rollbar welded in by a pro shop, I asked him to make some up and install. Any local fabricators or chassis shops in your area?

If your cage is tied in to the chassis there's little need for a solid body mount. The body is just along for the ride at that point.

BOP are taller and Chevy has one fewer per side at the firewall and the one they have there has a larger bolt from what I recall (I had delrin mounts made for mine in 2017 at rollbar time).

I don't have a cage I have a roll bar. Even with an anti roll bar out back my frame is still twisting some. I believe replacing 59 year old rubber body mounts with solid aluminum will help to stiffen up the frame. Plus I plan to box in the frame where I can.

I did find that the Pontiac has 14 bushings and the Chevelle has 12. But are you sure the Pontiac mounts are taller?

If worse comes to worse .... you could draw up a simple diagram and have them made. Just round aluminum stock with a reduced diameter/step on one side and a through hole.

(dimensions in this example are just made up, but approximate)

There are some subtle differences year to year in second gen F bodies even Camaro to Firebird, mainly on the front radiator support ones. So I'm not sure the differences in in Chevelle to BOPs.

I just found another bushing, my 65 LeMans has 16 bushings, 8 per side. Looks like they are all the same except for the radiator support. I'm thinking about getting a machine shop to give me a bid to make them.

If you can produce, have someone produce, the CAD file there are some online machine shops that are very reasonable.

Dog at Global West tweaked some for me in the past. Not sure if they make A body ones. They make a 2 piece interlocking for F bodies.

They're not going to rust or corroded. Big plus there.
