69 gto fender gap
Have this thing finally lined up and body worked, how does the fender to bumper gap look? I have a little less then ⅛ inch gap, don't want any paint rubbing! What is the factory gap set at?

Looks nice! I think the factory hood to fender gap is the same as the deck lid to quarter panel gap, plus or minus 1/32

Yeah it took some work to get it like that. I know the factory didn't get it that nice. Im more concerned with the fender to bumper gap. I know if its to tight paint will chip off from contact, I currently have ⅛ gap there. I have around 3/16 -1/4 for the hood to bumper and I'm happy with that.

Definitely better than factory. After you get it painted you can test it by jacking up the car real high with bumper adapter
To be honest, I'd probably want just a tad more, those bumpers jiggle around quite a bit on bumps. That's one of the best fit-ups I've seen, would be a shame if it cracked the paint. |

Thanks!, lol on the bumper jack! I filled that with 3m flexible parts epoxy so no one would be tempted to try that. I guess its ready then, glad that part is over. I think the only thing that was harder was getting the fender to door gap perfect, what a pain!!

05895a 05895b 2 part epoxy sands easily and flex rate is identical to endura.

Not trying to undercut you here but just for your information, the Southern Polyurethane epoxy primer has been hailed to the heavens around here as the absolute 'go to' epoxy for endura. It was too late for me and I'm seeing a little cracking now on mine.

I'm using the spi epoxy primer, the 3m part number I gave him is for a 2 part epoxy for repairing or building up the bumper.

Cool. I wish I had a good spare. I'd really like to re-do mine but I ain't going there at this point. If I had a spare, I'd do that one and swap it.

Some additional info on epoxy repair products:
http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...02&postcount=2 Since that post, I also tried a Canadian product from Dominion Sure Seal, Flexible Epoxy Repair XPST. https://www.dominionsureseal.com/pro...approved-xpst/ It comes in 2 large squeeze tubes, and mixes to a nice bright blue. It sanded nice but I found it a bit slow to set up and easy to scratch with a fingernail even after being cured for a week. Perhaps the product I bought was old...once the SPI epoxy was sprayed over top, all was good.

I'm extremely pleased with the 3m, it sets up quickly sands easily and seems extremely durable. These tubes are large at 5oz each and were I believe around 50 bucks.

For bumper repair, I actually used the off the shelf 3m 806 epoxy and it worked perfectly. Looked and felt exactly like the raw endura and totally invisible after sanding. I think it's marketed under the Bondo brand now.

I have some of that too, I think its the same stuff just in smaller tubes. I mixed batches of each and it was identical, I think 3m must make it for them lol. I would have used a bunch of those tubes so the 3m product was cheaper for me.

Yeah, I would bet that they are the same thing also. I had to buy at least two of those packages in the small size. I didn't need a ton of work to the endura itself. Most of my work was having to straighten it and a few gouges here and there as a result and some old damage that was already there. Amazing stuff. Exactly like the endura material when sanded. Dries quickly and sands very easily also.
