Nick, Just be aware there is a spacing differance between 66-67 Pulleys, and 68 and 69 Pulleys.

The differance is the spacing between the V-belt grooves. I am on the road at the moment and do not have access to my files. The seller does not P/N's and lists it also fitting a 69 OHC-6, and it for sure does not fit a 69 as they are a much shallower pulley for use with the short 69 only water pump. But 68 and 69 pulleys have the same V-belt spacing.

Just FYI

Post Dual groove pulley

Hi Nick
I'm in NJ also, South Brunswick.
Pretty interesting how Jersey residents describe our location by Turnpike & Parkway exits!
i have one on my old 67 OHC 6 that unfortunately was completely submerged by Sandy.
I know it's not correct, but it should work until you find a 66 version.
PM me an address if you can use it.
Jeff Hamlin was kind enough to deliver another OHC from Virginia, so I guess this is a spare.
I looked last night and it does have the pulley you need.
This is from an original 67 Tempest that was getting a 400 V8 transplant (NOT ME!)
It's tucked away, but I will try to get to it this week.
You just need to pay shipping

For the 66 dual groove pulley what you'll need is the dimensions of it. Then take that to the online stores that sell alternator parts and see if you can find a match or one that is real close.

If you do find one let us know where and post the link.

Default OHC PULLEY ID...

I'm trying to understand this, You have a '67 2 groove pulley?
If so it is the same for '66 are you sure you have the right water pump?

Here is what I have for some of the V Belt Pulleys;

Fan Single Groove 9782954 XN. ‘66-‘67.
Fan Duel Groove 9778559 XP. ‘66-’67.
Fan Single Groove 9797027 XN ‘68-‘69.
Fan Duel Groove 9797028 XV 68’-69.
Alternator Duel Groove 1964758 (DELCO) ‘66-’68.
Power Steering Duel Groove 9782693 ‘66 (CAST)
Power Steering Single Groove 9778555 XE ‘67 (STEEL)

Jeff, thanks so much for the info!! I was thinking I had a 67 pulley the whole time Part # 9782955 XP..I just bought the pulley on ebay # 9778559 hopefully problem solved! I think I have the correct water pump, very low mile car and because the belt closest to the engine is fine, it's the large spacing between that groove and the outer groove that was the problem. I'll update when the new pulley comes in

Hi Guys, I finally have this sorted out and it is my experience that the 66 and the 67 pulleys are different and cannot be used together...the 67 WP pulley 9778559 has spacing too wide to use with the 66 crank pulley and alt pulley ,this pulley prob would work on later set ups as its spacing is the same as the 2 later style WP pulleys I had...What ended up working is a 66 with PS/AC pulley 9782955 (I know disreguard my last post that said this part# didn't work, I was gettin' part# drunk as this is what I was looking for)..This was the only pulley for the 66 that anyone had,(Franks)I put this on and everything lined up perfectly...So just figured I'de share incase anyone else runs into this prob. Thanks everyone for your help!

Thumbs up

DQ,
Glad you got it sorted out. I will add this info; to my list.
Is it possible to get a side by side shot of the pulleys?
