I've asked before, but what is the paint code for Frost Silver? Is it a '63 Cadillac color? Considering painting the Safari that color.

Thanks,
Rob...
Not sure about the wipers (my '69 has colliding wipers too), but the color is Silvermist grey, code D. I had a '63 Safari in that color with Silverleaf green interior. I should have kept it just for the color combo. It's a great color for a '63.

Regardless of the weight reduction, these cars are wicked fast. I am not too sure of the race history on this car but I do know that the Union Park car I restored went 8.93 in a quarter.

Ha! Ill upload the article about it racing in Maryland. "Harold Ramsey's latest creation"

The car was altered wheel-base at the time.

You can see this written up on Russo and steeles website from when the current owners took it to auction. They have it listed as 8.91 @ 148mph

That's at bill blairs. The first car is the farmer car. The second one is the union park as an altered wheel base car. Not sure what the third is.

Thoughts?
I don't know about the Pontiac's but 1963 Chevrolets (Impalas, Corvette's & Corvairs) used this same master cylinder with the thumb screw and the body of the M/C was black. Pontiac could have received theirs from the same vendor which would have meant theirs may have been black also. Don't know

Thorpe, I am a '62 guy so I don't know about painted M/Cs on '63s. Someone here more knowledgeable should be able to clarify.

I have a gallery of pictures I've taken of super duty cars over the years at POCI shows, Norwalk, at people's houses, and auctions, of cars done by Ed Giolma, Bill Blair, Scott Tieman, Jim Mott, people like that. I just looked and in every case they painted the master cylinder bare cast iron or left it bare and satin cleared it - I can't really tell which in the pictures.

The Packer Pontiac Cat that Scott did several years ago did not have the holes lining up. Sometimes off by 1/4 of the entire hole. Been several years since I saw it but crawled under is just after it was done. He seemed to think they bored the holes and then bent the steel. He had to take it off the frame to have it straightened as initially he could not get the fenders to align.
Great cars.....

Low 12's in "stock" (aka B/FX) trim....

I think with a super tune they got into the mid 11's.

Found this while I was looking for the other photo; not my picture but - for discussion purposes - here's a frame:

That frame has more "empty space" than frame

Yup, the original "space frame". Probably whistled down the track. Mark L
