Weekend update - trans lines are bent and installed, exhaust bolted up (pan hangs 1+" below exhaust), all the work under the car is complete. Fab'd up a bracket for the tv cable. Installed the fuel system onto the engine. Before the intake and carbs go on i will pulll the valley pan and relube the lubes, prime the oil, fill the center carb with fuel and fire it up and burn in the cam! On time and over budget!

Thumbs up

Stuff looks good. The pan didnt hang down as low when I had it in my car, I wish I still had the stock pan I could have gave you with it. But the Th2004r needs extra capacity in my opinion, so if you can make it work, it will run cooler with it, and not ever suck air on acceleration. Keeps us posted.

Over budget? Sounds like most of my projects. Except mine were behind schedule as well.

Thanks al! New springs may be the answer. I'm gonna try it anyway. Moog 590's are about 150 bucks here. Cheap insurance. Pf, that's why I only have one project lol

I got a stiff neck looking at that one picture so I rotated them for you. I understand the cable bracket piece but the cable attachment to the carb has me stumped. Didn't your 64 linkage still use the rod from the accelerator pedal? Maybe a picture on the car would help. And didn't your original exhaust go over the cross member at the transmission?

I suspect it was when it was 2" it is now 2.5" so space may have been an issue once I added the long branches too. The tv cable bracket mounts to the 2 centre intake bolts instead of the carb. Once it is in this weekend I will post a pic of the finished product
And yes the throttle is still a rod.

A larger exhaust should solve the problem with the pan being lower than than the exhaust.

I was thinking formula 1 belly pan under the entire bottom of the car! LOL

that cutout between the bolt holes on the bracket is for the exhaust crossover on the the intake

Looks factory. Nice fabrication work. I see your pin on the throttle linkage as well. Just make sure it only has about 1 1/16th or so total travel, and when you install the cable make sure it is tight at full throttle.

1-1/16" max? hmmm I will have to double check it I may be up to 1-1/8". And it needs to be tight at wot? what about at idle? on that tv cable, you pull the lock tab out, go to wot, push the lock tab in and done?

(1 1/8 should still be fine.) It doesnt matter what it is at idle, just as long as it is tight at WOT. It will return where it supposed to be at idle when you set that. That is the idea behind just a little over an inch total travel. And yes, you pull the thing tight with the retainer out, then lock it in place.

I can get my hands on a pressure gauge so I will do that and follow the tv adjustment advice posted on Jakes. Thanks Al!

I thought I knew what you were doing but I was wrong. I thought the bracket would mount to the carb base as that is how I have seen some of them. Like they say - a picture is worth a thousand words.

It's pretty busy in the carb area plus, the one built by Bowtie is quite expensive so i decided to fab something trial and error style. This is bracket #2 LOL
