Thanks Matt,

Hoping to get some video soon. I will get some video of the TV pressure test so guys can see what i have done and make suggestions either way.

Note to anyone considering this in the future. If you want to log through all the gears manually you will have to relocate/modify the metal stop on the shifter at the rearmost location to give you access to first gear. As it was a 3 speed no need for that much throw.

Btw, the geometry is off at the carb "j" bracket supplied with the progressive linkage kit for tripowers. I am going to remove it, add some metal, drill a new hole and try again. maybe the Easter Bunny will bring me some luck! Since the original owner had 3.42's the governor springs may be too heavy now and making it shift to soon as well.

Geometry corrected! if you have a tripower you will need to add some to the "j" to get it closer to the radius. I had to weld a half inch piece of steel to the the lower part to get the geometry right. now off to the trans guy to set the wot shift points!

It will be one of the best all around performing 389 Grand Prixs around on the street with the overall gearing you have.

Bendtsen's makes it. I didn't axe pricing - I am not ready for this yet.

What is pictured is what comes in the kit. The plate, bolts, dowel pins, pilot-to-crank extension, and I've started sending the flexplate also.
The price is $385.00.

[QUOTE=Keith Seymore;5131839]I think I payed closer to $200 for my Bendsten starter mount plate a few years back (Dec '08).

the holes look slotted in the Bendsten plate ?
if they are did it help in starter tooth aligment ?

K
the .4687 dia hole above the starter but below the dowel hole is off
the 15.490 should be taken off left side dowell hole is what I found so far

has anyone here used Petes Plans ?
my vinyl test pattern from his plans need to change some things
but it is a start

a coupe of questions about this swap?
what flex plate do you use ?
1965 and later 166 tooth ?
internial or externial balanced ?
does the 2004r converter bolt pattern fit flex plate
or do you need to slot dril new holes?

Thank you
Paul
