Default No turning back now...

My '70 Judge is under the knife. Expected to be completed by spring, the shop is working exclusively on this car. Progress has been rapid. Here's some pix:

The trunk lid that Jon supplied with the car is much more solid than the original. Going to have to replace the passenger-side door as it's rotted on the bottom. Several of the parts went for media blasting yesterday. We discovered the driver-side front fender had been replaced with a new GM part many years ago, as it still has the GM sticker on the inside and no undercoating like the other one. Also found broken glass inside the driver's side door, so there might have been a mishap at some point in the car's life. We figure that may have been when the car was painted yellow over the Grenada Gold? But the door itself shows no signs of having been damaged, so who knows how the window ended up broken at some point. It had to have been a LONG time ago...

I'll post updates as they come....

Wow Greg, you're not wasting any time, congratulations! Looks like the Judge is in good hands, they specialize in winged cars. Does that 70 Superbird got a hemi in it

They really do outstanding work. Yes that's a Hemi Superbird. You can see more about it here:

They are in Grafton, WI? Is that were your from? Ready in spring too, thats a good thing to help the thaw go faster...

Sweet little old town outside Milw. Been there a few times myself.

BTW: My 71 Judge was roaming that area around Random Lake is what I've been told.

Mike,
I'm from the general area where Apex is. Random Lake is right up the road, that's where I go to get 110 octane leaded gas. Nice country up there. This is a nice area in spring/summer/fall but winters can be nasty, like this one...

The timetable is mid-April, but it if takes longer than that, I'll be ok with it. They have done other work on my cars and always have been very accurate as far as cost and time estimates. Probably helps that Andrew and I have been friends for many years and have raced our Mustangs at GLD together going back ten years or so...

My opinion is put it back original GOLD . I think the color would grow on you. You can't go wrong with original color Judge.

Unusual colors get attention.

I vote for the gold, too. Very classy combo with the sandalwood interior.
