more progress!
Measuring the sticker thats been on the car since 1965 in case I want to try to get a duplicate  quarter panel work   taillights are out. doesn't look too bad   rockers have had the trim removed and holes filled

Nice progress, I like the no trim idea, will probably at least delete the rocker moldings off my '63 Safari.

More updates:
sanded the quarters and put some more guide coat on them. they are pretty much 100% now Tailgate looks a little crusty but my body guy says "Sonny fix!" lol See that metal strip? I need one. Dont know where to get it.     Found some wheels today. "Ridler" brand. They are chinese, so I will keep an eye on them.  I bought the wheels on the right, for the rear. Love that huge lip! 20x10 in the rear, and 18x8 in the front. $700 for all the wheels, lugnuts, and valve stems.

If you are running those rims watch the bearings - that size rim, especially if cast, are VERY hard on the small bearings these cars have. Olds full size ran Set 5 and Set 3 (1962-64) and changed to these (Sets 2 and 6) in 1965, and went right back to the bigger bearings in 1966 till 1977.

I like the suggestion on that metal strip, thank you.
As far as the bearings, thanks for that as well. I do have a 4 wheel disc brake kit I'm putting on. It will use the stock rear bearings, but the front bearings are pressed into the rotors. Not exactly sure what size they would be, but I confirmed yesterday they are all still 5 on 5 bolt pattern, so it should be a "big car" set of brakes. |

Pulled it out to work on it
 paid some attention to the firewall. Ended up removing the heater box.     Installed a block off plate as I will be running an under dash AC unit  Seam sealer!   Tailgate coming apart...will need some repair           Thats all for now! |

Nice.
I'm not pressing you on this, justintime, but I would really like to see a separate thread in this subforum on '61/'62-'64 tailgate removal, disassembly and restoration. Your posts don't show where you are, but I have to guess that you're where heaters aren't needed, eh? |
