What color should my engine be? My Lemans wagom was built on 17th Oct 1972. The engine has been rebuilt and apears to be the lighter late 73-79 blue.
My question comes from the articals I have read that the EPA made pontiac repaint the 73 engines after the infamous EGR gate of mid 73 model year.

Any clarifacation would be a great help as I am getting ready to paint my 400.

Thanks Jeff R

So that means it should be the metalic blue 66-72 color? Not the later lighter blue correct?

Thanks again for the info.

73 transanman, Thanks for the rip on the Plasti-kote 208. I was able to find it at several local auto-parts stores in stock, it apears to be very close to the original color. And as a bonus it was cheeper than mail order & I saved the shipping to boot.

Thanks again for all the replies.

If PlastiKote 208 is supposed to be the 59-65 color, but it's pretty close.
