Auto shift knob
Hey guys having trouble with the assembly of the auto knob.
All parts are new. Button won’t push down into place.

If it is like mine, I found that I could remove the U shaped spring clip from the button and install that over the center rod first, then press the plastic portion over the spring clip/rod. This technique allows you to get the bottom of the clip inserted all the way into the openings in the lever assembly.
If you are certain it is all the way down and the button is still sticking up (as shown above) then you have a different problem with the center rod. K

Yea, if you slam it hard, the U-clip will crack in two.

The snap clips are in place the button won’t push down enough to snap in place.

Check for chewed or distorted plastic on the opening on the bottom of the PMD button. This has been the culprit in most cases I've run into this problem.
