Default 69 GTO Master Cylinder / Brake Rod Retainer Q

hi, all

I'm trying to install a new Ames MC.

not sure it's exact name but the circular part of MC body that surrounds piston ..
"original" that I'm removing from car .. it's circular edge is beveled, allowing rod retainer to fully seat into body wheras the Ames MC's edge is not and won't allow retainer to seat.

anyone have experience here?

thanks!

You have to take the rod off the pedal the collar holds the rod to the cylinder

rod is off pedal

the retainer cup(s) pictured, w/ rod included, won't fully seat into body of Ames MC .. pretty sure this is because original has that circular edge beveled ... Ames one doesn't therefore un-beveled edge prohibits retainer cup from fully seating

I'm wondering if the Ames MC wants a different type of rod retainer?

thanks!
