72 Lemans with the GTO sport front end. $14K NR in Indiana. The hood is fiberglass and it's common to have hood problems. These GTO hoods were so long they often bent near the relief holes in the center of each side rail. Those holes were put there to buckle the hood in a head-on crash. Over time, if the hood springs get wonky, the hoods will bend when closing it. I remember passing on a few of these hoods in Pick-A-Part in the late 80's because they were bent. I would imagine a real 71-72 GTO hood in good shape would cost some coin. Has had quarters replaced at some point. The engine is a built 400, so that's a positive. Has a bench seat, but honestly I like driving three people with a bench, over putting someone in the back. Not too expensive IMO.

67 Firebird Pro Touring at $125K in Florida. I like the Camaro hideaways, but that's hard to admit in here, so I'll just say they should have left it a Pontiac, or should they have? Just another case of someone doing what they want. That's really what this hobby is all about.

Its very very strange why they turned a 67 Bird into a 68 Camaro and spent metric tons of cash on it.
ROI would have been much wiser to start with a 68 Camaro shell.

I like the full frame and a lot of other stuff.
But I don't like the overall look of the finished product.

[QUOTE=thews;6448725]Here's a cool car. 75 Trans AM 4 speed with all NM and 32K original miles at $49.5K BIN OBO in Texas. I would think that if you fixed the little things that are wrong with this car, like the valve covers, and brought it back to bone stock, you could maybe win a show or two with it. Seems on the cheap side.

I need those bumpers...lol

64 Lemans 4-speed Gateway car at $40 BIN in Tennessee. I love what they didn't do to this car. They didn't make it a GTO clone. They put a tripower on the 326 and left it alone. This car would be a hoot to own.

I love the dark turquoise colors. I considered going that way on my turquoise '68 even though it's incorrect for the year.

The car is not what I would have done, but the subtle things are what gets me. Ok, so you have an unlimited checkbook and you're going to build your dream car. Decisions need to be made to achieve the goal of the car.

Go faster stuff: LS3 with at least 450 HP. I have a stock LS3 in my 2010 SS Camaro and it's rated at 426 HP. It's a blast to drive with the 6 speed and I can go 50 MPH hitting the red-line in second gear gear when shifting into third. I then shift into third and pull my foot off the accelerator and the car decelerates down to 60MPH with no brake lights. If you're pulling onto a road that's 60 MPH, you're really not doing anything wrong. The red-line at 6K RPM is throwing you into the seat when shifting into third. It's impressive.

Ford 9 inch rear end and 4 piston rear calipers (6 in front). Looks expensive.

Poker aint free and those parts are expenvive. What bugs me is, why the hell does it have a back seat? A 7 year old may be able to get back there, but they'd be thrown into the roll bar with any front-end collision.

I also don't like the blacked out chrome. Then again, it's not my money and no-one asked me. Regardless, the rear view is a blacked out chrome one instead of a bullet 70-81 T/A rear view. To each his/her own.

This is a great comp to my low mile '75 400 4 speed. Mine is red on black deluxe with rear console. After looking at the pics... I wouldn't trade mine for this one. My car doesn't have any rust and the dash isn't cut. It still has the stock AM radio and 8-track.

I've never seen a rear console Trans AM. Kinda like the fold-down rear seat in the first Gens, it's such a theoretical "trivial" option I can see why most people passed on it. Uber cool. I also have a 75 T/A Red/Black automatic. It's a CA car with zero rust, but it has a NOM engine and trans. Still looks awesome though, cause there's no mistaking a red T/A.

I think we've seen this one before, but now it's a NR $10.5K auction in Indianapolis. 68 Firebird 400 4-speed convertible in Mayfair Maize. Doesn't say whether or not it's NM, so prolly not.

beautiful car even tho its green
but that upper radiator hose has to go.
looks like its got a dual feed Holley hiding under that air cleaner
Also more proof that the true 68 color of parchment pearl is fading fast.
I still have some pearl interior paint left from touchups of my old 68 400
which really makes the parchment pop.

First time I've seen a car ad photo taken from a drone. Interesting perspective.

This is the blurb for that car:

Quote:
1962 Pontiac Grand Prix is powered by a 389ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in red over white vinyl upholstery.
Equipment includes 15″ wheels, power steering and brakes, triple two-barrel carburetors, a dual exhaust system with electronic cutouts, a center console,
and a push-button AM radio.

Talk about understatements?
