That looks like a Gibson Custom Shop model. From the rectangular fretboard inlays, looks like a SG Custom. With their "Made to Measure" program you can get any color (or other options) you want. Nice looking guitar.

Hmmm... I build the occasional guitar ... and I've got some Verdora Green base coat.
Although, can't imagine BC/CC does much good for the sound.

Not an SG guy (give me a Strat or LP) but I do dig the color!

Chicago Music Exchange (CME) special run. It is custom shop. It is for sale on a guitar forum. Not sure what year. That they called it Verdoro caught my eye.

I love it! My son is the guitar aficionado in the family with a pretty decent collection of 'axes'. Its been years since I have played but I do tinker from time to time. He gave me an SG as a loaner a week ago. This weekend I am planning on a trip to get a small practice amp to make some noise. I have always liked Gibsons. He is partial to Fender, Telecasters in particular and rarely played the SG. He even put new lighter strings on it for me.
As far as car paint on a guitar, a controversial subject but I am of the thought process that the body of an electric guitar has little effect on the sound. There has been arguments that one could string a plank of wood with pick ups and it will still sound good. I had a body shop paint my telecaster 40 years ago in white imron. Still looks pretty good. Looking back I wish I had left the original beat up worn out natural finish though. |

Yep my statement was based on "current thinking" in the guitar world ... which is far from scientific evidence.
I've been playing my entire life and I couldn't hear the difference in a natural finish vs. BC/CC to save my life.
