Heres a nice 66 in resale red. Its screaming for new wheels but otherwise shows nice. With a console too.

I'm thinking that with a weekend's worth of work, I can have that '66 looking 20-25% better. I would not change the wheels though I would get rid of all non stock items under the hood and anything that is red.
Maybe go to a whitewall tire!

I like the stock wheels/wheelcovers, too. Better than aftermarket mags, IMO. And I always liked the rear tail light treatment of the '66 Lemans much better than the '67. Kind of like the old '62 tail lamp shape.

That 66 is nice. Too bad the right side of the dash pad is in bad shape.

I have a spare dash pad to take care of that minor woe. I worry about the underbody of a new York car though.

I looked at the 67. Fast Lane got it from a guy south of KC. He wanted 29K and wouldnt counter when offered 25. It would be interesting to know what he is wanting for it.

Nice car but I have to say keep it stock. Not a fan of aftermarket wheels. They have their place just not on this car.

I agree on the 66 and red. Don't get the fascination with it. NY to far for me. I might as well over pay on something closer and not have to deal with the cost and hassle of getting it from out there to PHX.

I have nothing against red cars. When I was looking for a car last year, 75% of the cars for sale were red. I didnt want a red car.

The other thing that gets me is that someone clones a Lemans to a GTO look alike and expect to get top money for it. When it comes down to it, it is still a Lemans.

Saw the 67 posted on classic old cars. Fast Lane is asking 37K. They are nuts.
