Default heater bypass in a 55

I am going to assume, and you know what that means. I am almost ready to try and fire up my wagon. I am not sure of the heater system if it leaks or not.

Can I bypass from the intake directly to the lower radiator heater hose inlet, without any issues? It just looks like it would bypass the thermostat to me.
Thanks

Yes, you can do that without any problem. It might take a little longer for the engine to warm up to where the thermostat opens. I doubt you would notice the difference.

It would be the same with heater and defroster connected and heater opened for heat during warmup.
