First time on a dragstrip in 50 years was... interesting. The cold hard numbers are very sobering. A 1.372 reaction time? And my Tri-Power GMC that seemed pretty strong took 8.678 seconds to reach 66.9 MPH! I suppose staying on the throttle past the first light might have helped the MPH a little?

It's all good because as you start the process of tweaking and adjusting (including driving through the last light) your E.T. will steadily drop.

Everyone gets a turn at this until you work out the issues from time. I always wanted to see this vintage track and run at the event but the distance is tough for me.

Enjoy.

Just a couple of strips of asphalt in the middle of a corn field! Doesn't look any different than it did fifty years ago- or in 1959 for that matter, when I first ran there (stock '37 Buick coupe). Those quarter mile races got to be quite unsafe. But these vintage drags of the last few years are real "fun times", very laid-back.
