Default New member saying Hello

Hi Guys,

Newbie here. Recommended to me by some other to join. I’m from Ontario, Canada. I recently bought a 1966 Pontiac Bonneville.. I have been looking for a 66 Pontiac full size since I was 20. So 9 years ago. They have always been my favourite. Especially the Bonnevilles!
I have bought and sold other classics many years ago, had a 69 Buick Riviera, 70 Dodge Monaco, and 71 ford LTD that were sold.
Finally saved up and bought what I really want, favourite car: 66 Bonneville.

Brought her home 3 weeks ago or so.
Has a Pontiac 389.
Needs work..

So much I want to do and not sure where to start.

-Mike

Welcome to the forum. Nice Car! Looks pretty complete. Is that the original color? You will find a ton of information (and sometimes opinions too!) on this site. I would suggest checking your braking system over first.

Thanks guys!
It looks like it was repainted and then faded.... it’s black with red interior.
Yes, the braking system needs work. Brake lines need to be done for sure.

I am debating about keeping the 389? Or go after a 400/455 with a stroker kit?

Yes indeed, a great car design. In the early 80's I couldn't understand how that quality could wind up in the boneyards

Welcome and congrats! Great color combo, too.
When I was two years old, my parents bought a 66 Bonneville - their first new car. They kept it for 13 years. I blame it for my love of Pontiacs
