Question TH400 Kickdown Question

My 68 Firebird 400 has the original Kick down switch and bracket, however the
spacer for switch was missing. I can make another but was wondering the length or
spacer. I did a search and there are several excellent pics on these forums, and when I
duplicate that pic where there are almost no threads exposed after the lock nut it seems
the switch will only activate when throttle is 95% or better. I only noticed this after installing
new floor mats and she felt different at WOT as switch was not always being made.

Where do you guys prefer to have to kick down activate. I have read anywhere from
75-100 throttle movement. This is with a 3.08 rear gear.

Thanks

Gerry

I measured 2 of them and got .45 on one and .51 on the other so about 1/2" is what I would make it.

Gerry, Do you have a picture of the spacer installed. I've been struggling with this same issue and didn't realize I was missing a spacer. Makes sense! Thanks!
