Default What glue??

I need to reattach the welting to the '70's center front spoiler. What glue or adhesive have you guys found to work the best?
And for bonus points, do you put the glue on the welting first or the spoilers edge?

NOT glue......The word glue is another word for "failed re-attachment"...in most peoples minds...

How about adhesive...or bonding agent?

I've been successful with solvent based contact cement in that application.....carefully applied to BOTH precleaned surfaces....

I used weather stripping adhesive the very edge of the spoiler, then installed the welting. I used small clamps to make sure it dried where I wanted it, then installed on the car!

Clothes pins...right?....

I've used weather strip adhesive before on this application.....

Contact cement excess residue cleans up easier..

Yeah kinda, they're plastic little clamps.

If I had to do it again I would try and get the adhesive in the welting itself, then put the welting on the spoiler. With the adhesive on the spoiler first, the welting will try and snowplow the adhesive onto the paint if you're not carful.
