Default It's begun, Ohio Sprintcar Speedweek

Last night we attended the first leg of nine nights of racing at 8 different tracks in Ohio. Racing started at 1/3 mile Attica raceway park just SW of Norwalk last night, tonight they race at Tony Stewarts 1/2 mile Eldora Speedway. Sunday at 1/4 mile bullring, Waynesfield Speedway just off I75 north of Dayton.

Monday Wayne County 3/8 mile track SW of Akron. Tuesday, Sharon Speedway 1/3 mile track, owned by the Blaney family just west of the Ohio/PA border north of Youngstown. Wednesday, Atomic Speedway 3/8 mile high banked track billed as the fastest 3/8 mile oval in the US. Thursday is Muskingum Speedway 1/3 mile track NW of Zanesville Ohio. Friday Limaland Speedway 1/4 mile track just west of Lima Ohio, off of I 75. Saturday concludes the racing, back again at Atomic Speedway SW of Chillicothe $10,000 to win inaugural Rick Ferkel memorial race concludes the week.

Last year my wife and I took our fifth wheel camper and dually and followed the circuit, over 800 miles in one week and didn't leave the state. This year we have my 96 YO mother living with us so we are forgoing at least 2 races, maybe 3, and returning home each night to check on her.

I'm sure maybe 15 people might read this, but Ohio Sprint Speedweek is to me just as much a yearly can't miss, as Norwalk is to most people on PY. Have a nice day...………………...
