Default Battery cable shield for 1972?

Spending time cleaning in the engine compartment of my '72 Esprit and noticed that there is no positive battery cable shield on the left front corner of the engine. And yes, the cable and wiring do route down and around the lower, left engine corner.
I thought this was something that all Pontiac engines used prior to 1974, but various year Pontiac MPC's seem to show that '72 model year was skipped on this part. What have you guys found?

There should be a metal loop clip on the motor mount bolt that retains the battery cable. The curved metal tube shield didn't start until later on.

Yes, I do have that clip, bolted on with the forward most motor mount bolt. So that's all there was then? With no shield (tube) on the corner, the cable & solenoid wiring can flop around quite a bit.

Here's the part numbers and applications that I was able to find on a quick search. They did use OCR on this so that second entry might be F/8 instead of T/8.

482828 2.343 T/8 SHIELD, starter motor wire 1 1964 1966 2-23
482828 2.343 T/8 exc. 400 H.O. or Ram Air SHIELD, starter motor wire 1 1967 1970 2-23
482828 2.343 All V/8 exc. H.O SHIELD, battery to starter cable 1 1971 1971 2-23

545576 2.343 All A, B, G/V-8 SHIELD, battery to starter 1 1972 1972 2-23

Would that be from a 3/73 printing? It matches the info I have too. No "F" body shown for '72.

Hi Ric.

I believe the online parts lookup is a collection of part numbers from a wide range of MPCs. It seems to span from 1910 to 1981. If you are a subscriber to the Pontiac Journal then you get access to the online Pontiac parts lookup as part of your subscription. Here.
