Default Rush Limbaugh tells the REAL story of the first Thanksgiving

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t2INu_d8GM

I've been listening to Rush for about 4 years and heard this on his show today. He tells the story of the first Thanksgiving and doesn't leave out the details that most books and people leave out. What you mostly hear is the PC version. I've never heard this version before, and I'm 65.

Rush tells about how the settlers tried two types of governing, and how they almost failed in their first couple years here in America.

I don't care if you think Rush is a total waste of time, or not, there is an important lesson here that most people don't know about the pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving. The version that should be in most History textbooks, but isn't.

One of my ancestors is among those that died the first winter.

Rush said there were about a little over 100 people on the Mayflower, 40 of them were Pilgrims. Half of the Pilgrims (20) died the first winter. He never did elude to who the other 60 some were doing, and what happened with them.

Way to minimize the Indians contributions to saving the early settlers and how the real Americans were treated for their hospitality. What wasn’t taught in schools is Squanto (Tisquantum) and how he saved early settlers not bull crap on socalism and how that didn’t work.
Quote:
“From southern Maine to Narragansett Bay the coast was empty—utterly void. What had once been a line of busy communities was now a mass of tumbledown homes…scattered among the houses and fields were skeletons bleached by the sun. Squanto’s native Patuxet had been hit with special force. At Massachusetts Bay, conflict and foreign disease caused the Native American population to plummet from approximately 37,500 to 5,300.”

Tisquantum lived among the pilgrims in Plymouth where he acted as a sort of counselor/diplomat between the colonists and Native Americans.

So the Thanksgiving legend of Squanto and the pilgrims is a “fish tale” in the sense that, like many fish stories, it is an exaggerated account. But it turns out that the more historically accurate version is also a story about fish.

Waldman tells us Tisquantum did more than teach colonists how to plant seeds with a small fish (probably menhaden) as fertilizer, he also taught them how to catch eels
