Rally II wheels
Hello I am looking to buy four new rally II wheels. I need to know if anybody has purchased these wheel recently and were happy with them and the paint. I looked at them at Summit and the paint was really bad and would chip off with your fingernail. I read the info on the wheels in the Ame's catalog which stated no warranty on the paint. So am looking for a vendor that does good work and stands behind there product. I do not need the beauty rings just the wheel that have been powder coated and the centers painted the charcoal color.
Thank you Alan Mayhew |

I bought the ones from Summit about 6 years ago and have had no issues. But, the car is stored indoors and doesn’t get that much time on the road.

What size are you looking for? A member here has a set of 14's, with trim rings, and some nice BFG's on them. They came off of his Judge when he found the correct wheels for his car.

I have Wheel Vintiques 15X10s that are powdered coated (maybe painted) and they've held up just fine. They seem fine to me.

I think the Wheel Vintiques are going to hold up better than anything you can do out of a spray can.
I did not put trim rings on mine- so there were not any scratches for it to start flaking. But really, I am happy with them |

When researching OEM tire/wheel options for my '66 GTO, I found many citations that the 1967 Rally II wheels for the GTO where 14X6. The previous owner of my '66 had installed 15x7 Rally II's with BFG T/A radials, I do not plan to use them if I ever get the car back on the road. They are by no means show quality, and they are not '67 Rally II's, but if you want to take a look at refurbishing them, I am local to the DFW area and could make them available to you.

In case you are curious what 15" rally 2 wheels look like in charcoal with trim rings and centers but no silver spokes.

All the steel ralley ii wheels are made in the same place, with greatly differing prices. We went to summit. Opened up maybe 6 wheels of "different" brands. All were in the same box with different sticker, the removed wheels were stamped inside the rim the same. Identical. They are poorly powder coated the incorrect color. The center color is too bronze colored. We blasted our 8x15 wheels and had them painted the oe colors. See the two bronze factory painted ralley ii as they came from Summit, verses painted the correct color. Someone had tried to clear a wheel and returned it.

I thought I remembered you suspected your current wheels were out of round. Good Luck with the repainting. If you find someone in the DFW area that does you a good job, I would appreciate a heads up on that.
