I tried to find out for you Bob but there does not appear to be production totals for the 89's by car by motor. The guys I spoke with did say they expected production to be low because most of the guys ponying up for the 5.7 would have gone with the GTA 1st because it was included.

Thanks John that's what I keep finding, and Boss that's what I would have done in the day is get the GTA. I think the production is low on T/A. Everyone is all over the TTA with numbers and forgot the T/A.

So this popped up yesterday on the 3rd gen board - don't know where the numbers came from or how accurate they may be - for what it's worth...

Quote:
1989 Pontiac production records indicate that of the 5,727 units of RPO WS4 Trans Ams, 1,648 units were RPO 81U Bright Red.

Of those 1,648 units, there were 1,035 units with RPO WW8 Red Aero Kits. (The others had WW2 Silver Kits)

1989 Pontiac production records also indicate that there were only 613 units of RPO L98 Trans Ams. Fairly rare when you consider that for 1989 there were: Formula: 4,875 units with L98; GTA: 7,553 units with L98.
