how much was it to redo your pad?
I see a pad for 67 GTO listed but no description as to is it a recover or a repop.

FYI, Al Knoch has a 10% off (over $500) until January 5th.

I had the dash pad for my 1962 catalina done by JD, cost was what is being quoted here and it is a very minimalistic design. Only comment is there was a spot where the dye rubbed off in shipping, but they supplied a bottle of dye with the pad.
Wasn't aware of the Knoch option or I would have went with that.

I ordered a dash refurbishment on-line from Al Knoch and then called them on 1-2-24. They called on 1-8-24 after receiving my core to clarify a couple of things. I got it back today (1-18-24). I got the Christmas special price, 10% off. This is a 69 Lemans A/C dash. I'm pretty satisfied. There are a couple of very small dents visible in one of the pictures. But some of what you see that isn't perfect isn't normally exposed as it will be covered by trim in the switch area. Notice that they did not cut out the radio opening or the switch openings. You may also notice that one of the two metal tabs below the steering column looks bent. Not sure if I sent it like that to them or not. Dash was well packed for shipping by them.

Al Knoch charged me $115 for return shipping via FedE, which is almost the same as I paid to ship the core to them using the other shipper. I homemade a box as small and tight as possible to ship the core. They are near El Paso, TX and I'm approximately 825 miles away in Shreveport, LA.

so question is does the plastic insert for retaining screws fit the 67?
Ames shows it as A259W but doesn't specify year

Pretty sure that takes those yellow oval inserts that has a slit in it which the screw goes in.

Yes. I would think for $1 its worth a shot, or call Ames maybe?

Pretty sure those are generic and are used over many years.

Did you try one and it didn't work?

no havent ordered any yet
waiting to put it on a bigger order
I agree,for $5 its worth the risk.
Im just pissed because the core I sent had all of them intact.
Perhaps they are removed to refoam, but one old one was left.

I'd be curious as well. Looks like we are both 66 Catalina owners in KC
