NEW BLOOD...
Came in at the Saturday Cruise-in.
Decent built to drive FB with a nice TA look without the worries of the real deal. Not sure "I" could have a white wheel, but a clean car for sure...

1953 Chieftain Deluxe "Woody" Wagon
Was out at a local Charity show today and this '53 was one of few Pontiacs on the field.
This wagon just drew me in and I couldn't get enough of her...

going, going, gone!
My '62 (455, TH400) leaving my front yard. Sold to a bona fide Pontiac guy! Now I can concentrate on my '63 Lemans.

I was getting ready to leave the airport after watching the Collings Foundation fly in yesterday and this nicely restored '65 Lemans vert drove into the lot.
In hindsight, I should have turned my ISO down to the lowest setting. The paint was very nice but was too bright to capture it. |

1930 OAKLAND V8 4DR SEDAN
Once again came across another amazing Old Gal at a local charity show.
With the passing of every year the old iron becomes a distant memory. I always gravitate toward any vintage iron at shows, just to have a chance to see something unique. This show was one where I would have never thought I would see anything new. Well to my surprise this 1930 V8 Oakland was standing front & center and even though the current owner didn't feel she was really show/picture worthy, I assured him it was. This is the first V8 Oakland I've ever seen in person. She was re-painted many years ago and had lots of road rash. The interior was largely original with the odometer showing 40K.

1930 OAKLAND
The current owner knew the original owner very well
and was asked to buy her just before the owners passing per their request to save it. It had been kept in a storage container for aprox 10 years when the 1st owner became ill. The engine is sound but is missing the oem carb, which they do have. There are no plans to restore her just keep her running.

Thanks for sharing that. I had a 31 Buick model 57 that very strongly resembled the Oakland except it was an OHV straight 8. thought the "V" was a typo but I was wrong. The V8 looks similar to the Cadillac V*'s with the exhaust coming out on the top side. I could see where the exhaust exited, do you recall?

That's a very interesting article about the Oakland V8's. What a time of changing technology and all without computers. True pioneers.
