Default stealth Alu heads

I have a topend kit comming from butler, after some thinking i want to go the stealth option, but the order is in the works and is payed in full.

So my question is how can i fill the engraved edelbrock logo on the front of the heads? what filler will hold up under heatcycles?
the embossed logo on the center ports can be removed with an rigth angle grinder and carbide + sandpaper rolls.
And they wil be painted ofcourse.

These were done to look like SD455 heads.

I have seen recommendations to use high heat epoxy. JB Weld has a version and that is what I used on my KRE heads.

Once cured, I sanded it smooth and flush with the head then a coat of epoxy primer then paint.

Engine was only run on the stand so no long term feedback from me.

Thank you for the reply's so far, i am leaning towards a 2 component metal filler myself. JB weld is not so comon over here, but loctite is aviable , so far my best bet is Loctite 3475 A/B

That is the right type of product, but that one is only rated up to 120*C which is 248*F. While your engine should not normally run that hot, I would look for something rated a bit higher, at least 300*F. The JB Weld I used was rated for 550*F

Good catch, and i agree i would like a little leway on temprature range.

I think i can get Permatex® Steel Weld™ Epoxy from a local supplyer.

On their website they remove it for you with the stealth option.

"Butler Performance now offers the service to have all logos removed from aluminum cylinder heads. We can remove logos from the end of the cylinder heads and above the exhaust ports."

A long time (probably 20 years) I did some stealthing on some Edelbrock heads. I filled the embossed areas with JB Weld, then filed it down smooth. Then I chucked a 6" sanding disc in a drill, and added some "machine" marks on the ends.

I also welded 1/4" bolts to a few of the head bolts. I then modified the stock heat shields to fit over the headers, and installed them on the "studded" head bolts. The headers were coated black, so you had to really look to notice them under the shields.

I really like the idea of the ‘stealth’ look on these heads. You all did some nice work here. I’m going through the process of putting together a stroker build and would definitely like to go the ‘stealth’ route. My original plan was to go the KRE D-port route, and maybe do a “12” on the heads to match the stock heads I am putting away. Of course, I could probably be talked into the round-ports (always wanted a RA IV) and if I did go down that path, would opt for the “614”. Or maybe “614A” or “615” to throw off the Chevy guys. lol!

I think for folk that have looked at tons of cast Poncho heads over the years, these still kinda jump out at you. They are too pretty and finished looking surfaces and angles to even momentarily fool. Still sharp looking, just sayin'.

I've pretty much decided to go with the Edelbrock heads on my motor. It does bother me a little to lose the look of the original heads but it's hard to argue with the performance of the Edelbrock's. I will go the stealth route, although I'm under no illusion that it will fool anyone, just looks less bad.

Will that make my car a restomod or can I call it a day 2 car?? Or maybe just never open the hood in public. I don't know if I'll be able to handle the shame. LOL.

I want stealth appearing heads because the car is registerd as a historic vihecle. And in for it to pass the DMV mandatory checks, it has to be stock or stock apering. But some DMV inspection stations interpit the rules as stock, down to every part as it was from the production year.
