I'm interested, but don't know enough to understand the upside of a local chapter....willing to learn. $20 won't kill me though hahaha .... it's less than a fill up

Get to meet fellow enthusiasts and owners. Get to participate in some charity functions as well.

Some news regarding our chapter. Sounds like we're going to have a booth at the Mecum Kissimmee auction in Florida in January. We're getting bigger and we'd love to have more Florida GTO/Lemans/Tempest owners join us. I don't currently own a GTO but I'm a member as well.

If you plan on heading to that auction in January please stop by our table and say hi!

Padgett, a previously Florida goat-guy who moved to Alabama said I'm supposed to get in contact with you about the GTO club, so now I guess I found it. Checking out the application form right now.

Should I take it as a bad sign that our GTO Chapter address is a funeral home? Are you trying to tell me something I don't know?!?

Just kidding, looking forward to joining.

It's a shame it's not Pontiac club rather than a GTO club. You would be open to so much more people.

There's more to Pontiac than GTO's. Firebirds get no respect!

I don't want to be in any club, that would accept me as a member.

Anyone can join but it is a chapter of the GTOAA, not a chapter of the POCI. I belong but I don't currently own a GTO.

Was a long time, GTOAA member and attended many meets. However Tony and I had a major disagreement about the purpose and since he owned the club I dropped out. That was when we created the Central Florida Streak and Goat Ropers Association which became the Wide Track Warriors (Orlando) and just learned is no more.

ps GTOAA was formed because GTOs were too new for the Silver Streak crowd that ran POCI at the time so a while ago.

I still need to contact the president of the chapter. He has been in touch with Mecum. So hopefully we'll have a table. I'm going to be there from the 12-14th.

I was just in Orlando on vacation at Universal Studios. It was crazy.

Hopefully this new GTOAA Chapter will be successful.

I have been around long enough to remember the days the original POCI Florida chapter looked down on GTOs as Padgett mentioned. The WideTrack Warrior shows and people were the best and I still see some of them. Also the first Sunshine State GTOAA Chapter had a very strong following for a long time. I belonged to both the POCI original chapter and the first Florida GTOAA Chapter back then. Unfortunately my location was quite a distance away from both and limited my ability to participate in helping out.

However none of this should be a detriment to this new attempt to create a chapter. That original POCI chapter has been revived and doing well and a second POCI Chapter out of Jacksonville has been very successful.

Good luck!

You guys should bring some of these cars to the NMCA race/show in Bradenton the 19th/20th for the show and or race if you like. There were quite a few Pontiacs there last year.
