Nice build. I will be looking to do something similar so really wondering how it idles? Also how much vacuum at idle? I don't recall 67's as having an AC idle solenoid so wondering how well this combo works.

I'll get some vacuum readings. It was idling down around 800 at one point. I have a video of it idling. I will post a link when I get it uploaded.

Don't know about GTO but factory AC 1967 firebirds did have an idle solenoid.

Easy enough to add an idle solenoid either to an A/C compressor circuit or just a toggle switch. Even have brackets for Holleys.

Default Dyno video added

Here is some dyno video.

This first one is the pull to 6000 RPM. Notice how the RPM's jump up about 1500 RPM's when the secondary air valves open, before he could get control of it again. The power just comes on so abruptly!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5s1...ature=youtu.be

This one is a reverse pull down to 1600 RPM.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJQr...ature=youtu.be

Here is a video of it idling around 900-1000 RPM.

Default Manifold update

Got to dyno it today with the manifolds on with a 2.5" pipe connected to them. The pipes were 3'-3.5' long. Vacuum came up a bit to 11" at 800 RPM or so. Got the short poly locks in also so I could install some stock valve covers. Engine actually made more peak torque with the manifolds, and barely lost any HP! Here are the numbers.

Paul..not being critical just trying to learn.

Does that mean the cam is more suited for the manifolds vs headers?
Does this at all signify that with headers it can use more cam?

Excellent job Paul as usual. I'm impressed with the manifold numbers. Not enough difference to warrant using headers. And to do that with a cam that only has a 4 degree split on a 112 lsa.....sure makes you wonder about all that talk about wide cams needed for manifolds. That voodoo cam is gettin' it done.

What it means to me is Pontiac did a great job designing these manifolds. Then whatever RA Restorations did to them in modifications, worked even better.

It's a big engine, so it could sure use more cam, but it's a street engine, so the cam is as big as needed for this application.

The manifolds hurt the low end power, but picked up some power in the top end, which is completely backwards from what I thought it would do. Hurting the low end torque numbers is probably a good thing though, as this will be real hard to hook up on the street.

Sean, hope you have some good, sticky tires!

Totally satisfying the Pontiac need to be underestimated. So clean. You set the bar really well for performance and looks!
